The Future City Chicago competition took place on January 20th. SMPS Chicago sponsored the Best Future City Marketing-Big Idea award. Sponsorship Chair Jessica Hemauer, CPSM and President Elect Dawn Jones served as judges. The Best Future City Marketing-Big Idea award was for the future city that best combines the artistic display and use of materials for models of their Mini- Presentations (at their table) with the essay (how well did the team create a vision, solution and benefits -marketing their project plan) and clear messaging (how clearly did they articulate their ideas and solutions).

Wood Dale Jr. High “Forever Young” won our SMPS Award for Best Future City Marketing Big Idea because of their exceptional use of marketing via a handout brochure/ leave behind piece. They also described their city in a short skit, similar to an advertisement.
